This is a waste of money - it broke on the second use. I took it a part to find out why and the entire locking force was applied via a sharp edge metal lever held in place by a 1/16 in plastic pin. It simply self destructed.
Description of Zelco Lock Up Door Lock
The take-along door lock for ultimate security in hotel rooms, dorms and bedrooms. Lock up for the night and sleep without fear of intruders. It's simple to install (takes seconds), and, with its quick release lever, it comes off even quicker than it goes on both right and left hand doors. When installed, lockup cannot be dislodged, or tampered with, by anyone attempting to break into the room, and Lockup makes it infinitely more difficult for any hostile person to physically break down the door. Storage pouch (included) makes it an easy traveling companion. COlor: Black Dimensions: 177 x 50 x 19mmIdeal for locking a door from the inside, this take-along lock provides security and privacy because it cannot be dislodged or picked from the outside. It installs in seconds, releases instantly with its lever, and works equally well on doors that open to the left or the right. Installing is an easy four-step process: insert the end of the lock's steel bar into a door frame's "strike plate," close the door on the bar, slide the square portion's padded end against the door, and push the lever to lock.
